Development of emotions and emotional maturity

The process of maturation and learning play effective roles in the development of emotions in the human beings .As a child grows, he may Aquarius positive and negative emotions through his environmental experiences and training emotions or emotional behaviour are in our sense, the learned and acquired pattern of our behaviour.therefore at the time of birth a child does not show the presence of any specific emotions except a sort of general excitement in the form of crying or smiling. The state of general excitement showing pleasure or displeasure to the the concerned stimuli remains it with the infant up to 6 months therefore it can be safely said that a child begins his journey towards the development of his emotional behaviour with the help of two distinct emotions that is emotion of distress or displeasure and emotion of delight or pleasure when an infant completes the six months negative emotions like fear disgust anger jealousy extra take the lead and then the positive emotions like relation love sympathy enjoyment acceptor creeping generally upto two years almost all the emotions positive and negative take their shape and become quite distinct in children
Emotional development after the stage of infancy is the totally concerned with the development of the ways and manners of expressing various positive and negative emotions these ways and means of emotional expression are learnt through environmental experiences formal as well as informal education as specialised the training given to an individual right from the childhood.
whatever experience education or training a person make it for the expression office emotional behaviour during his childhood and adolescence we expect from him a quiet nature behaviour in terms office emotional expression during the adulthood besides attaining maturity in terms of his physical and mental development and adult should also demonstrate adequate which is the internal surface emotional development in other words he must be emotionally immature and must exhibit it in his behaviour.

Meaning of emotional maturity

emotional maturity is that characteristic of emotional that is generally attained by an adult after the expiry of his adolescence period after attaining emotional maturity he is able to demonstrate a well-balanced emotional behaviour in his day-to-day life a person may be said to be emotionally matured if he has in his position almost all types of emotions positive or negative and is able to express them at the appropriate time in an appropriate degree.

Conclusion

Regarding the meaning of emotional maturity I would like to quote Arthur T.Jersild (1968).he is of the opinion that emotional maturity should not involve just simple destruction and control it means much more and adequate description of emotional maturity mistake account the full scope of the individual capacity and powers and off his ability to use and join them in his broadcast sense emotional maturity means the degree to which the person has realised is potential for richness of living and has developed his capacity to enjoy things to relate himself to others to love and to laugh is capacity for wholehearted sorrow when an occasion for grief arises and his capacity to show fear when there is location to be frightened without feeling a need to usse falls mask of courage

Educational psychology and its scope

Educational psychology is one of the many branches of psychology dealing mainly with the problems processes and products of education it is an attempt to apply the knowledge of psychology in the field of education in other words education psychology may be defined as a branch of psychology which studies the behaviour of the learner in relation to his educational needs and his environment it has been defined by various psychologist and scholars

Scope of educational psychology

Educational psychology is a science of education which mainly deals with the problems of teaching and learning and helps the teacher in his task of modify the learners behaviour and bring about an all round development of his personality.while in psychology the scope of study and the field of operation are extended to cover the behaviour of all living organisms related to their life activities. In educational psychology e the scope of such behavioural study has to be limited within the confines of the teaching learning process that is studying the behaviour of the learners in relation to their educational environment, specifically for the satisfaction of their educational needs and the all round development of their personality the subject matter of educational psychology must be centred around the process of teaching and learning for enabling the teacher and learner to do their jobs as satisfactorily as possible
letters first see the different issues that may be involved in an ongoing teaching learning process for improving the process and products of the system related to teaching and learning we will have to improve all the ingredients of this phenomenon for this purpose the basic questions involved in the teaching learning process must be satisfied only attend to:

Who is being taught or educated?

By whom is he to be taught or educated?

why is education to be provided to the child or what are the values are objectives that are aimed at through the teaching learning process?

How when and where should this learning experience be satisfied only provided to the learner for achieving the decision educational objectives?
Educational psychology six to provide satisfactory solutions and answers to all the questions raised about accept the why of education as this is fairly the concern of educational philosophy a matter to be decided by society or government the for text of educational psychology are loaded with material related to the other six basic questions like ,

Who is being educated?

By whom is the learner to be taught
Who is to be taught?

How are the learning experience to be provided?

When and where are the learning experience to be provided?

In the discussion so far we have tried to outline the general scope of educational psychology. However the scope of a fast growing subject like educational psychology cannot be limited in such a way educational psychology being a science of education has to supply the necessary knowledge and skills for carrying out all the task of education. Education cannot be static and fixed or unchanging as it has to be planned according to the changing circumstances and needs of a particular society or nation to meet the emerging problems and demands in the field of education. Educational psychology has to work hard and keep evolving new concepts, principles, and techniques. The subject matter of educational psychology are also its field of operation is therefore, expanding day by day and in the view of this it is not possible to limit the scope of the the subject. This would in fact be advised to do so such a step would not only hamper the progress of this fact growing and developing science of behaviour, but would also hinder the realisation of the objectives of education. hence it is only right not to strictly define the scope of educational psychology so as to leave the way open for its further expansion and declare it as having no limits to effectively fulfill the aims and objectives of education.

Quantitative and qualitative research methods

Quantitative research is explaining phenomena by collecting numerical data that are analysed using mathematically based methods.

Qualitative research seeks to answer questions about why and how people behave in the way that they do. It provides in-depth information about human behaviour.

Sources of quantitative data

Surveys: weather conducted online buy iPhone or in person this relay on the same questions being asked in the same way to a large number of people.

observations : which may either involve counting the number of times that a particular phenomenon occurs such as how often a particular word is used in interviews for coding observational data to translate it into numbers.

Secondary data : such as company accounts.

Analysing quantitative data

There are a wide range of statistical techniques available to analyse quantitative data from simple graph to show me the diagram through test of correlation between two or more items statistical significance other techniques include cluster analysis useful for identifying relationship between group of subject were there is no obvious hypothesis and hypothesis testing to identify whether the rajini differences between groups.

Qualitative research

Qualitative research is any which does not involve numbers for numerical data each of an inverse words or language but may also use pictures of photograph and observations.almost any phenomenon can be examined in a qualitative way and it is often the preferred method of investigation in the UK and rest of Europe us studies 10 to use qualitative methods although this distinction is by no means absolute qualitative analysis result in which data that gives an inductor picture and it is particularly useful for exploring how and why things happened.

Pitfalls to qualitative research

* If respondents do not see a value for them in the research they may provide inaccurate or false information.

* All the ethics are an issue for any type of research there any particular difficulties with qualitative research because the researcher may be party to confidential information.

* It is generally harder for qualitative researchers to remain apart from their work.

Sources of qualitative data

* Interviews: which maybe structure semi structured or unstructured.

* Focus groups: which involve multiple participants discussing an issue.

* Postcards: including diaries written account of past events and company reports.

* Observations: which may be onsite or under laboratory conditions for example where participants are asked to roleplay is situation to show what they might do.

action research

Action research seeks transformative change through the simultaneous process of taking action and doing research, which are linked together by critical reflection. Kurt Lewin, then a professor at MIT, first coined the term "action research" in 1944. In his 1946 paper "Action Research and Minority Problems" he described action research as "a comparative research on the conditions and effects of various forms of social action and research leading to social action" that uses "a spiral of steps, each of which is composed of a circle of planning, action and fact-finding about the result of the action".
Action research practitioners reflect upon the consequences of their own questions, beliefs, assumptions, and practices with the goal of understanding, developing, and improving social practices.[1] This action is designed to create three levels of change[2] (1) self-change as the only subject of action research is the person who conducting the research. This person is seeking to be better understand the effects of their action in social settings and to engage in a process of living his or hers values. The second level is a collective process of understanding change in a classroom,[3] office, community, organization or institution. Action research enlists others, and works to create a democratic sharing of voice to achieve deeper understanding of collective actions.[4] It is a process of sharing finding with the community of researchers. This can be done in many ways, in journals,[5] on websites, in books, in videos or at conferences. The Social Publishers Foundation[6]provides support for this process.
Action research involves actively participating in a change situation, often via an existing organization, whilst simultaneously conducting research. It can also be undertaken by larger organizations or institutions, assisted or guided by professional researchers, with the aim of improving their strategies, practices and knowledge of the environments within which they practice. As designers and stakeholders, researchers work with others to propose a new course of action to help their community improve its work practices. Depending upon the nature of the people involved in the action research as well as the person(s) organizing it, there are different ways of describing action research.[7]
  • Collaborative Action Research
  • Participatory Action Research
  • Community-Based Action Research
  • Youth Action Research
  • Action Research and Action Learning
  • Participatory Action Learning and Action Research
  • Collective Action Research
